Eco-Friendly Clothing–Saving the Environment While Looking Good

Eco-friendly clothing is the next step in fashion evolution. We all know the earth needs our help. Our industrial lifestyle has damaged her, and continues to do so. As we are continually engaging in mass production, the pollutants that are the after-effect of that production are invading the earth and causing widespread damage in the soil, air, water, flora, and fauna of the planet. Pollution is a huge issue, and anything we can do to minimize it will help preserve the earth in a livable state for future generations. Wearing clothing that is designed to be earth-friendly is one thing we can all do to help.

Of course, we want to feel like we look good in our clothes. Most of us just don’t have the self-confidence we need to go out wearing something that we think looks bad on us. Wearing good looking, fashionable clothing helps our self-esteem, which is important. Fortunately, today’s eco-friendly clothing is a far cry from the burlap sacks and homespun fabrics of times past. Today, we can wear the height of fashion while protecting the planet from further damage by the clothing production process.

Today, we have a wide variety of choices when it comes to earth-friendly clothes. The thick, scratchy, and awkward hemp fiber clothing of a decade ago has given way to soft, sleek, and colorful hemp fibers that are virtually indistinguishable from the finest cotton. Bamboo, which is a highly sustainable crop that requires little care to thrive and grows everywhere, can be spun into threads that are as smooth as silk and as shimmering as satin. Cotton can be grown organically, which does not require any pesticides or chemicals to be sprayed on the plant as it is growing, and it can be colored with eco-friendly dyes that are made from fruits, vegetables, minerals, and a variety of natural plants. These are all good ways of making clothing without negatively impacting the environment.

You will find all kinds of eco-friendly clothing today. From the standard t-shirts and tank tops, to pants, dresses, shoes, underwear, and even accessories like hair ties, you can look as stylish as you want to while feeling good about knowing you are playing a part in protecting our planet for ourselves and future generations. It’s all available to you, and the price is reasonable, too, so go out and wear your sustainable clothing with pride!
